Project Description

Final Evaluation Rating: Above Average

The project consisted of the construction of six training stations:

  • Underground Utility Trainer
  • Grenadier Gunnery Trainer
  • Team Trainer
  • Squad Trainer
  • Offense/Defense Building
  • Erection of prefabricated concrete Breach Walls

In addition, the site work involved construction of new aggregate surface access roads, drainage ditches and culverts, and construction of seven earthen berms along with all necessary site remediation to include turf establishment.  Site utilities included electrical and communications for lighting and targetry.

The Grenadier Gunnery Trainer was constructed of timber with multiple firing positions and target emplacements.  The Team Trainer and Squad Trainer were both constructed of timber on concrete foundations.  The Offense/Defense building was a three-story masonry building which included a basement with reinforced concrete walls and slab on grade.  Each floor was constructed of precast hollow core planks and concrete topping.  The building was wired for electrical power, lights and communications for targetry.  Other appurtenances included interior metal pan stairs, exterior steel stairs and rails, rappel hooks, wood trusses and roll roofing.
